How much does it cost to oppose?

Since the crisis began, the number of opponents has not stopped growing. And is that, due to the lack of work, many people have decided to focus their professional future on the study of competitive examinations.

Getting a place is not easy and also a lot of willpower and hard work, requires an investment that varies depending on the job to which is chosen and the method of study chosen.

In this post we detail the expenses that the opponent's life brings with it and we show you how you can face them regardless of the situation you are in.

The necessary material to oppose

In order to prepare for an examination, it is necessary to obtain an updated syllabus, which includes all the subjects that enter the examination for the corresponding position. The price varies a lot depending on the opposition in question. We find agendas ranging from 65 euros (in the case of examinations for the Teaching or National Police) to more than 600 euros (when it comes to examinations for the Judiciary).

However, it is also possible to buy a second-hand agenda at a more affordable price on online sales platforms such as Thousand Ads, Vibe or Walls pop and start saving from the beginning.

To the agenda should be added the expenditure on complementary books and office supplies, the amount of which will depend on the form of study and the needs of each opponent.

The difference between going to an academy or studying on your own

One of the main expenses for an opponent is the payment of the preparation classes in an academy, whose price usually ranges between 100 and 300 euros per month. There is no doubt that the academy acts as a guide and a fundamental support when preparing for the exam - especially when it is the first call to which the student appears - but it is not the only option.

There is always the possibility of preparing the oppositions independently, studying on your own at home or in the library. In this case, the expenditure for support and training will be non-existent, but in return a lot of discipline and organisation will be essential to be able to structure the time remaining until the exam date in the most productive way possible.

Examination fees for an opposition

The examination fee is the amount that opponents must pay in order to be able to be examined in public competitions. It is about the right to examination, so to speak, regardless of whether or not the entrance exams are passed.

Payment must be made at the same time of registration and the rate varies depending on the group to which the public job offer convened belongs and the autonomous community or the town that launches the oppositions. In this way, we find figures as low as 1.55 euros for administrative assistant examinations in Bilbao up to 300 euros that the Vaquero City Council collected a few years ago. However, the normal thing is that they are around 60 euros.

Loans for opponents

If you need a small financial aid to acquire your syllabus, pay for an academy, buy material or pay your exam fee, you have student loans at your disposal, which offer you the financing education you need to start studying without worries.
